01
The Platform and Its Mission
Sia is an independent knowledge initiative directed by an interdisciplinary team of specialists in linguistics, artificial intelligence, investigative journalism, and the humanities. Uniting empirical research methods with professional media standards, the team works to transform raw, fragmented datasets into intelligible, verifiable, and methodologically sound knowledge.
The platform’s fundamental purpose is scientific, scholarly, and educational. It seeks to deliver rigorous, open empirical analyses that advance scholarship, journalism, policy planning, and civic literacy—providing researchers, journalists, students, decision-makers, and the reading public with insights anchored in verifiable evidence rather than transient impressions.
Accessing, browsing, or utilizing any material from the platform constitutes full acknowledgment and acceptance of this policy.
02
Independence and Impartiality
The contributors to Sia act strictly as professional academics and data researchers; this is their sole capacity in everything published on the platform. They belong to no political party, represent no government body, sectarian movement, or ideological faction, and advocate for no partisan agenda.
This commitment entails two clear principles: First, all platform content is governed entirely by empirical research standards in data collection, processing, statistical verification, and visualization—free from considerations of political loyalty or antagonism. Second, any analytical reading or conclusion must be understood strictly within the bounds of its stated methodology and evidence, and must never be construed as conveying political or doctrinal positions not explicitly affirmed by its authors.
Any future research grant, institutional partnership, or collaborative project entered into by the platform remains governed by these principles and confers no right of editorial interference or bias upon any party.
03
Contextual Integrity and Disclaimer of Misuse
Every piece of data on Sia exists as part of an integrated architecture. A number must be read alongside its documented source; a chart alongside the methodology of its construction; and an analytical inference alongside its empirical boundaries and caveats. Severing any data point from its contextual framework distorts its meaning and can invert its factual significance.
Consequently, Sia disclaims all association with, and responsibility for, any individual, organization, or political entity that selectively quotes data out of context, or re-presents platform findings to advance ideological or partisan agendas. Prohibited practices include, but are not limited to:
- Circulating individual charts, figures, or tables stripped of essential explanatory notes, caveats, or statistical baselines.
- Excising methodological documentation, primary source attributions, or confidence intervals.
- Pairing platform findings with misleading editorial commentary, sensationalized headlines, or fabricated statements falsely attributed to Sia.
- Incorporating Sia graphics or data into polemical or propagandistic campaigns to imply institutional endorsement.
All legal and moral consequences of such selective distortions rest exclusively with the infringing party. The presence of Sia’s trademark or emblem on altered or decontextualized material does not indicate issuance or endorsement by the platform.
04
Permitted and Prohibited Uses
Materials on Sia are made accessible for academic research, educational instruction, professional media coverage, and individual edification, provided that the mandatory citation standards set forth in this policy are upheld.
In contrast, the platform strictly prohibits utilizing any data or material published on Sia for any of the following purposes:
- Violating applicable domestic or international laws, or endangering public safety and national security.
- Fomenting social division, sectarian hostility, racial discrimination, regional antagonism, or hate speech.
- Compromising cultural heritage, civil discourse, or human dignity.
- Advancing covert political campaigns, astroturfing, or ideological harassment.
- Defaming individuals, communities, or institutions, or inciting violence.
- Manufacturing disinformation, counterfeit infographics, or fabricated statements attributed to Sia.
Automated bulk scraping, systematic data extraction, ingestion for artificial intelligence training, and commercial resale without prior written authorization from platform administration are strictly forbidden.
05
Intellectual Property Rights
All original works published on this platform are the property of Sia and its contributors, protected under applicable intellectual property laws, copyright legislation, and international conventions. This includes:
- Narrative texts, analytical reports, investigations, and data stories.
- Visualizations, maps, interactive charts, and infographic layouts.
- Curated datasets, taxonomy schemas, normalization pipelines, and corpus classifications structured by Sia.
- Computational tools, software modules, and interactive interfaces.
- Platform trademarks, brand marks, visual design systems, and section identifiers (e.g., “Rasid”, “Tibyan”, “Sard”).
Where the platform analyzes public datasets or external archives, third-party rights remain with their respective holders; Sia’s copyright applies to the original collection, structuring, analytical modeling, design, and textual formulation.
No material may be duplicated, modified, derived, or exploited commercially, in whole or in part, except as explicitly permitted under Section 6 or with prior express written consent.
06
Terms of Citation and Republication
Fair, limited quotation from platform materials is permitted for scholarship, education, critique, and news reporting, provided that all of the following conditions are simultaneously met:
- Explicitly citing “Sia Platform” (sialabs.org), accompanied by the exact story title, its direct permalink, and its publication date.
- Quoting findings accurately without paraphrasing distortion, preserving the surrounding context, primary sources, and methodological caveats.
- Retaining data charts and tables in their original, unaltered form without cropping that shifts the analytical meaning.
- Ensuring the citation does not imply that Sia endorses the viewpoints, affiliations, or publications of the quoting party.
- Ensuring the use is strictly non-commercial and does not serve as a substitute for accessing the primary work.
Republication of entire articles, complete translations, inclusion in commercial publications, or reproduction in broadcast media requires prior written consent. Inquiries must be directed to the official email, specifying the requesting entity, intended medium, and purpose.
Sia reserves the right to demand the immediate retraction or correction of any republication executed in breach of these conditions.
07
Data Accuracy and Errata Policy
Sia relies upon documented, verifiable sources and transparently details data-gathering methodologies wherever feasible. Nevertheless, all quantitative and qualitative analyses remain bounded by the quality of source records, methodological assumptions, and the date of compilation. Findings may be updated as newly verified evidence emerges.
We welcome documented, evidence-based feedback identifying potential inaccuracies in figures, sources, or interpretations. Reported errata are subjected to rigorous editorial verification; if substantiated, the relevant data point is corrected promptly with an explicit, timestamped erratum notice within the material to ensure total transparency.
08
Disclaimer of Liability
All materials are provided solely for analytical, educational, and informational purposes. Nothing published on Sia constitutes legal, financial, investment, or political advice. The user bears sole responsibility for any decision, strategy, or action undertaken in reliance on these materials.
Sia and its contributors disclaim all legal and moral liability for:
- Any unlawful use or breach of this policy by third parties, regardless of location or jurisdiction.
- Any direct or indirect damages arising from user interpretations or reliance upon platform publications.
- Any third-party content published externally that claims affiliation with Sia or derives from cropped or altered materials.
- Comments, discussions, or user-generated feedback across external social media networks.
Mentioning an entity, public figure, or document does not constitute an endorsement of that entity’s actions or views.
09
External Sources and Links
Sia’s investigations may incorporate hyperlinks to third-party databases, academic papers, government reports, or news archives strictly for reference and citation verification. Sia exercises no control over the content, uptime, or privacy practices of external repositories and bears no responsibility for subsequent changes or removals. The inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement of the destination site.
10
Legal Recourse and Rights Enforcement
Sia and its leadership reserve all legal rights to initiate legal action against any party that breaches this policy—whether through copyright infringement, malicious manipulation of findings, or prohibited uses set forth in Section 4.
This includes filing legal proceedings before competent judicial authorities worldwide, seeking compensatory and punitive damages for material and reputational harm, and demanding the immediate removal of infringing content from online hosts and social networks.
Any delay or omission by Sia in enforcing its rights under any provision shall not constitute a waiver of those rights.
11
Amendments and Contact
Sia reserves the right to revise this policy whenever necessary. Revised terms take effect immediately upon their publication on the website. Continued use of the platform following any update constitutes formal acceptance of the modified terms.
